Who we are:

 

Markus B. KARNER, MSc PhD

Founder | Director | Singapore

 

Markus Karner earned a MSc degree in Zoology, Marine Biology, Meteorology and Geodynamics from the University of Vienna, Austria (1991) and a Doctorate in Life Sciences from the University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France (1995). He pursued scientific research in marine molecular microbiology and ecology at the University of Southern California and the University of Hawai'i. For his studies he sailed the Mediterranean, Pacific, and Southern Oceans (Antarctica). Dr. Karner was awarded the U.S. National Science Foundation Antarctic Service Medal in 2000.

Alexander N. DÖRFLINGER, MSc PhD

Director | Switzerland

 

Alexander Dörflinger earned a MSc degree in Botany, Biomathematics and Statistics and a Doctorate in Physiological Plant Ecology from the University of Vienna, Austria. There he served at the Institute of Ecology as a Lecturer and as Assistant Professor. His research concentrated on plant and urban ecology (carbon, energy and water balance of cities). Dr. Dörflinger lives in Switzerland and is Chairman of the real estate companies Oberau Immobilien AG and Dörflinger Immobilien AG, as well as the investment company Dörflinger Holding AG.
